Daniel J. Keating Company was selected as General Contractor of this 70,000 square foot facility, which serves as a convocation center for Neumann University. The building contains two gymnasiums, weight training and cardiovascular facilities, classrooms, game rooms, multi-purpose spaces, and an indoor running track.
The design of the building is unique in that it was built into a hill. Visitors entering the front of the facility arrive on the second floor, but the rear entrance reveals the entire elevation of the building with egress at street level. The curvy trussed roof follows the rolling campus landscape, and the glass curtain wall in the front and back of the building both maximizes daylight and gives the structure a light, airy feeling.
This project was constructed with sustainable practices and technologies and achieved a Silver LEED Certification from the US Green Building Council.
