Aston, Pennsylvania
Daniel J. Keating Company has started construction on this new 70,000 square foot facility, which will serve as a convocation center for Neumann College. The building contains two gymnasiums, weight training and cardiovascular facilities, classrooms, game rooms, multi-purpose spaces, and an indoor running track.
The design of the building is unique in that it is being built into a hill. Visitors entering the front of the facility arrive on the second floor, but the rear entrance reveals the entire elevation of the building with egress at street level. The curvy trussed roof follows the rolling campus landscape, and the glass curtain wall in the front and back of the building both maximizes daylight and gives the structure a light, airy feeling.
This project is being constructed with sustainable practices and technologies and upon completion will seek LEED™ Certification by the US Green Building Council.
