Villanova, Pennsylvania
This state-of-the-art concrete, stone clad building was constructed to withstand the requirements of today’s modern engineering school. The facility houses all disciplines of engineering, including civil, environmental, electrical, computer and mechanical engineering laboratories.
Civil, electrical and mechanical engineering labs are grouped interdepartmentally to enhance interaction between disciplines. Heavier, vibration- and noise-producing labs are located on the
ground floor, while electrical and computer labs requiring isolation from vibration and dust are located higher in the building.
The Center for Engineering Education & Research sits on a sloping hill and is highlighted with a glass cube entrance lobby which provides a visually exciting perspective from both inside and out.
