Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Designed to coordinate aircraft activity at the gate areas, the control tower was the first completed phase of the Airport's new International Terminal. Extending 207 feet above the ground, the tower offers improved sightlines and modern technology to enhance the flow of aircraft movement. The steel clad, metal panel structure houses a three-story control room and state of the art radar tracking technology. It encompasses 7,000 square feet of space including four operational floors, the largest of which provides positions for twenty-one airline ramp controllers. Other floors contain office space and an Airport operations center that will be used to manage airfield operations. The expansive curtain wall system allows for a clear view of the entire Airport and its surroundings.
